Put The Adventure of the Speckled Band back in order

  3. The bent poker Dr. Roylott storms into Baker Street, warns Holmes off, and bends a steel poker, which Holmes straightens again.
  4. The mother’s will Holmes reads the will at Doctors’ Commons and learns that the daughters’ marriages would cost Roylott most of his income.
  5. A bell that does not ring At Stoke Moran Holmes finds a dummy bell-rope, a ventilator into Roylott’s room, a clamped bed, a saucer of milk and a looped lash.
  6. Waiting in the dark Holmes and Watson sit silently in the dead sister’s room until a hiss comes and Holmes lashes at the bell-rope.
  7. The speckled band They find Roylott dead in his chair with a deadly snake coiled round his head.
